چکیده

Background: This study's goal is to illustrate how mirror treatment can be used with someone who has upper-extremity hemiparesis three months after suffering a cerebrovascular accident (stroke). These patients frequently fail use their affected upper extremity its full extent, possibly as result of the "learned nonuse phenomenon. On each weekday 9-day intervention period, patient performed tasks paretic for 6 hours while being closely watched. Methods: Study population was from Mayo hospital Lahore. design Randomized Controlled Trial. RCT:. 34 met requirements inclusion were examined in this study. Before beginning any physical examination, participant study gave written, informed consent. Patients divided equally into two groups. The Wolf Motor Function Test and Numeric Pain Scale measure pain motor function on first day. Group A received using therapy, whereas B traditional care. Results: Mirror therapy significantly effective lowering boosting functional activity stroke patients, evidenced by comparison pre- post-treatment scores NPRS WMFT groups B. Practical Implication: Stroke leads multiple dysfunctions depending upon severity lesion. It may decrease range motion dependency or disability. Physical important management including Strengthening, Stretching, ROMs Manipulation Therapy. provided an opportunity share my personal experience community. conducted purely clinical setting Physiotherapy Department Hospital, Conclusion: proved that more when combined conventional compared only treatment. Effect of Mirror Therapy on the Motor Recovery in Patients After Stroke: A Randomized Clinical Trial

Objectives: One of the most important problems seen in patients after stroke is that they cannot develop normal muscle strength. In recent years, the use of Mirror Therapy (MT) in the recovery of this condition has been noticed in different studies. This study investigated the effect of MT on motor recovery in patients after stroke. Methods: In this clinical trial, 93 patients were divided int...

Effects of Task Related Training and Hand Dominance on Upper Limb Motor Function in Subjects with Stroke

Objetives: Recovery of upper limb motor function in stroke is limited. Different approaches are used to improve the upper limb function, but none has satisfactory results. The present study investigated the effect of task related training and role of hand dominance in upper limb motor function rehabilitation in stroke population. Methods: A convenient sample of 32 subjects divided into 4 gro...

The effect of task-based mirror therapy on upper limb functions and activities of daily living in patients with chronic cerebrovascular accident: A randomized control trial

Background and Objective: Cerebro-Vascular Accident (CVA) is considered to be one of the main causes of acquired motor disability in adults. Different motor rehabilitation programs are being designed in order to improve motor difficulties of patients with CVA. In the current study we aimed to assess the effect of task-based mirror therapy on upper limb functions and activities of daily living i...

Effect of mirror therapy on upper extremity motor function in stroke patients: a randomized controlled trial

[Purpose] This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of mirror therapy combined with a conventional rehabilitation program on upper extremity motor and functional recovery in stroke patients. [Subjects and Methods] Thirty-one hemiplegic patients were included. The patients were randomly assigned to a mirror (n=16) or conventional group (n=15). The patients in both groups underwent conventio...

Mirror therapy in chronic stroke survivors with severely impaired upper limb function: a randomized controlled trial.

BACKGROUND Mirror therapy (MT) has been proposed to improve the motor function of chronic individuals with stroke with mild to moderate impairment. With regards to severe upper limb paresis, MT has shown to provide limited motor improvement in the acute or sub-acute phase. However, no previous research has described the effects of MT in chronic individuals with stroke with severely impaired upp...
